Quillpad...

This is a cool transliteration website built by rampi&Co. It is pretty intuitive to use, you just type in whatever seems phonetically right to you and it automatically converts it to the language that you choose.

No more mix of capitals and smalls, artificial repetition of a's to get your words transliterated. If you are used to other transliteration tools, this could be confusing, forget your habits and try to write naturally. This promises to be a great tool for the indian market.

For eg. type iroju nenu chala santoshamuga unnanu and it converts it as you would expect. Try it out and give feedback to them: quillpad

It works fine for dictionary words. But shouldn't it write in proper tamil as how I would write the following english phrase in tamil? It just garbled. So, technically, its just doing a dictionary look up?

"I think this is super cool. what do you say? may be it is not. let me test it out how it writes english? "

Hmm.. not sure what you were expecting. The tool is meant to phonetically transliterate what you have typed in. It cannot be a plain dict lookup - for more info about this you can read up http://acharya.iitm.ac.in/multi_sys/translit.php

If for some stuff it does not work as you expect, please give them feedback via the feedback link given on quillpad page.
